aPCI Firmware Upgrade You can update and save the FPGA firmware for aPCI modules on a B&R Power Panel 300/400 with this disk. ---------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE PROCEDURE ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Copy all files to a bootable disk. 2. If you want to update the aPCI FPGA firmware copy the new aPCI FPGA firmware files for the aPCI modules to the disk. Contact B&R to get the proper aPCI firmware files. 3. Insert the disk in a (USB) floppy drive connected to the Power Panel and re-boot the device. 4. A boot menu with following options is shown after booting: 1. Update aPCI FPGA (autoselect) The FPGA firmware of both aPCI slots will be updated automatically (default after 5 sec). The aPCI modules are required. The aPCI FPGA firmware files are selected automatically according to the plugged in aPCI modules. 2. Update aPCI FPGA of slot 1 The FPGA firmware of aPCI slot 1 will be updated automatically. If no aPCI modul is plugged in, the aPCI FPGA firmware file must be renamed to "apci1.pci" (for aPCI slot 1) before updating. 3. Update aPCI FPGA of slot 2 The FPGA firmware of aPCI slot 2 will be updated automatically. If no aPCI modul is plugged in, the aPCI FPGA firmware file must be renamed to "apci2.pci" (for aPCI slot 2) before updating. 4. Save aPCI FPGA (directory SAVED) The FPGA firmware of both aPCI slots will be saved automatically in the SAVED directory. *********************************************************** There must be up to 640 kbytes free space left on the disk. *********************************************************** 5. Exit Exit to the Shell (MS-DOS). 5. Select the desired action. 6. Remove disk and reboot system after successful update. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Version 1.02 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Contents: MTCXSVC.EXE 3.01 NEW CONFIG.SYS NEW Fixes: - None.
