Basic seminar – Fundamentals of industrial automation

Automation Studio is used to configure and program all B&R automation components. Core issues such as getting a clear overview of all product groups, initial commissioning of a controller, understanding the functions of the runtime environment and using the options for integrated configuration and diagnostics will be shown. Use of IEC programming languages, numerous standard libraries and the integrated help documentation ensure that nothing is standing in the way of a successful start to the project.

Advanced Seminar – mapp Services and connectivity with OPC UA

In addition to providing traditional control functionality, Industry 4.0 and smart factory concepts indicate that today's controllers must also be able to record and prepare data for higher-level systems while communicating with a wide range of devices in a network of machines. Find out more about mapp Services the components it includes. mapp Technology allows simple and efficient implementation of an extensive application infrastructure. Seamless integration of OPC UA client and server functions provides uniform support for connecting a large number of automation components through integration into existing IT infrastructures.A prerequisite for this seminar is participation in the basic seminar or basic Automation Studio training.

Modeling and simulation – Creating a digital twin with RobotStudio®

RobotStudio® is a physics-based, real-time 3D simulation software tool for virtual commissioning of mechatronic systems. By importing CAD data, digital twins of systems can be created and linked to Automation Studio. In the workshop you will learn how to prepare CAD data in RobotStudio® so that a simulation model of a mechatronic system is created.

Use of digital twins – Commissioning and application creation for virtual factories

In this workshop, you will learn about the many possible uses of a digital twin when creating applications in Automation Studio. In addition to using various mapp Technology Packages and communication with OPC UA, the alternative use of ARsim or real B&R hardware for control of the digital twin is also covered.

mapp Motion: From single axis to robotics application

The market demands cost-effective motion control solutions. With its stepper motors, B&R offers an economical and powerful addition to its existing product portfolio. B&R motion control solutions are developed, deployed and diagnosed in Automation Studio. This is made possible by using mapp Technology. B&R provides pre-configured software modules that make robotics functions even more accessible and robotics applications even easier to create. B&R's mapp Robotics includes standard functions for control and commissioning as well as advanced functions such as feed-forward control, compressor and workspace monitoring. The user can implement complex and highly dynamic applications without having to write countless lines of code.

HMI application with mapp View – Web meets automation

Smart devices such as tablets, smartphones, etc. are considered perfect examples of technology with ultimate usability. Unsurprisingly, operators of industrial machines and systems – and therefore also manufacturers of such equipment – desire nothing less when interacting with the machinery they use every day. With mapp View, B&R now offers access to web technology that can be used to develop HMI systems for B&R automation applications. Application engineers can use mapp View to create powerful and intuitive HMI solutions. The web technology used here is encapsulated with mapp View. Learning a broad field of technology is not necessary. HMI developers can focus entirely on creating a solution for the task at hand.

Machine vision – Smart Sensor integration

With the world's first machine vision solution to be seamlessly incorporated in the automation system, B&R takes integrated machine vision to a whole new level. You will learn the basic concepts of closed-loop control, how to describe dynamic systems in the time and spatial domain and how to identify them using a step response and much more.

Customers benefit from integrated safety technology in the drive, simple commissioning and a fast response. B&R safety technology is now seamlessly integrated into mapp Technology. mapp Safety makes it easier than ever to design, maintain and troubleshoot safety applications. In addition, mapp Safety automatically communicates with other mapp components, such as the user role and audit systems.
