BIOS Upgrade IPC2001/2002 (normal mode) BIOS Upgrade for B&R 2001 and 2002 IPC's (Normal Mode Upgrade). ---------------------------------------------------------------- UPGRADE PROCEDURE ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Disk must be bootable, like the desrciption on the upper side. 2. Put the Disk in the Floppy-Drive and Power ON the PC. 3. After booting a Boot-Menu will be visible with following options: * 1. Upgrade complete system: All 2 BIOS will be upgraded. (Default after 5 seconds). 2. Upgrade VGA: Only the VGA will be upgraded. * 3. Upgrade ELITE BIOS: Only the BIOS will be upgraded. 4. Start Upgrade Utility: The Upgrade-Utility will be started, where you can make a 'verify' or 'save' from the installed BIOS Versions. 5. Exit to MS-DOS: Exit to MS-DOS prompt. * If at the Upgrade of the BIOS the message "Switch Bootblock Write Enable to ON" appeared the DIP switch "BOOT WE" must be set to ON. The Upgrade Tool tries to write on the Bootblock. If the switch is set to OFF the Tool spends four long and then four short Beep signals. This happens so long to the "BOOT WE" switch is set to ON. 4. After sucessfull Upgrade the System must be resetet. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Change(s) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Elite BIOS - Added MTC Interface in the BIOS. - Added menu point "reconfig DP83905 Disabled/Enabled" at the Setup Page "Additional Peripherals". If this option is enabled the EEProm of the National Ethernet controller is set to factory defaults when it was changed. |
