ACOPOS X2 and X4
The ACOPOS family welcomes two new modules: ACOPOS X2 and ACOPOS X4. They provide seamless control of low voltage stepper and brushless DC motors (ACOPOS X2) or servo motors (ACOPOS X4), with support for one, two or four axes.
Embedded encoder support, integrated STO, and SafeMotion support, make the ACOPOS X2 and ACOPOS X4 ideal options for providing flexibility and safety in applications with lower power ranges. ACOPOS X2 and ACOPOS X4 provide machine builders with more options within a compact package, and are the latest addition to the already diverse ACOPOS and X20 portfolios.
ACOPOS X2 – Smart, safe, and versatile
The ACOPOS X2 can control stepper motors or brushless DC motors – or a combination of both – with a total power range up to 1 kW, making it a suitable solution for simpler applications such as positioning applications on machines in packaging or metals industries. The product includes integrated encoder support for various different encoder types, and can also run encoder-less. Onboard STO SIL3 capability ensures guaranteed functional safety, while closed loop functionality ensures precision control along with high performance and accuracy.
ACOPOS X4 – Control four motors from a single device
ACOPOS X4 offers improved precision control plus integrated SafeMotion technology. X4 is capable of controlling up to four servo motors from a single module. The device can control four 450 W motors at 8 A, or two 900 W motors at 16 A. A cycle time down to 25 μs ensures a high degree of responsiveness and accuracy, while the compact footprint provides overload factor up to twice the nominal current in a smaller package that reduces cabinet footprint by up to 30% in an eight-motor configuration.
Both ACOPOS X2 and X4 modules plug into the slicebased X20 system just like any standard X20 module, and increases the system’s versatility by providing support for different motor types and encoder types from the same module.
This makes the modules backward compatible with POWERLINK, and future-proof for OPC UA FX network communication.
