On the market for fully servo-driven finishing machines, the ServoGrafix high-end rotary die cutter from MarquipWardUnited combines the particularly robust American machine construction with a state-of-the-art and complete automation solution from B&R. The outstanding productivity, top-quality die cutting and printing in addition to the high availability of the machine and lowest possible operating costs have convinced the German cardboard manufacturer P-Well.

Extremely short delivery times and a wide range of products are success factors when producing and further processing corrugated cardboard. To avoid machine failures, productivity and reliability are at the top of the list of criteria when acquiring production equipment. MWU's robust machine design in combination with B&R's advanced drive and control solution has proven its worth: the machine is characterized by high throughput, environmentally friendly handling of sheet material, minimal waste and impressive precision.

47 servo drives from B&R's ACOPOSmulti device series individually control 52 servo motors. This allows fine tuning even during active production. Storing the data using the system controller shortens setup times. Misprints due to incorrect handling are reduced to an absolute minimum by the process-oriented user interface. Optimal support for safe and productive operation of the machine is provided by 71 B&R X20 safety modules that control a total of 280 channels using openSAFETY via POWERLINK.
