mapp is revolutionizing the creation of software for industrial machinery and equipment. mapp components are as easy to use as smartphone apps. Rather than write lines and lines of code to build a user management system, alarm system or motion control sequence from the ground up, developers of machine software simply configure the ready-made mapps with a few clicks of the mouse.

With mapp Services, it is possible to set up all basic functions for a machine or system with just a few clicks: recipe system, alarm system, user role system, audit trail system and much more.

In the workshop, you will learn about the configuration concept, commissioning, diagnostics and integrating mapp Services into the machine application.

Remote lectures are held online. You will receive an invitation to the virtual classroom via Microsoft Teams. This may require additional registration on your part.

Participants need a PC with web browser, a microphone and speakers (e.g. USB headset). A second screen and a webcam are recommended, but not mandatory. A stable Internet connection is required.

The exercises are performed in an Automation Runtime Simulation. As an alternative, the ETA Light system or the ETA system can of course be used, for example a combination of ETAL210.1050-1 and ETAL611.1T10-1.

A live session is planned every day. Afterwards you will receive exercises. Your tutor will be available in the chat at agreed times. Use the chat capabilities to share your experiences with other participants. Schedule about 2 - 3 hours per day.

Automation Studio is used to configure and program all B&R controller components. Core issues such as getting a clear overview of all product groups, initial commissioning of a controller, understanding the functions of the runtime environment and being familiar with the options for integrated configuration and diagnostics are decisive.

This lesson is the prerequisite for many follow-up seminars.

SRL611 – Remote Lecture: Creating HMI applications with mapp View

Smart devices such as tablets, smartphones, etc. are considered perfect examples of technology with ultimate usability. Unsurprisingly, operators of industrial machines and systems – and therefore also manufacturers of such equipment – desire nothing less when interacting with the machinery they use every day. With mapp View, B&R now offers access to web technology that can be used to develop HMI systems for B&R automation applications. Application engineers can use mapp View to create powerful and intuitive HMI solutions. The web technology used here is encapsulated with mapp View. Learning a broad field of technology is not necessary. HMI developers can focus entirely on creating a solution for the task at hand.
