Innovation Day B&R UK & Ireland
As the world becomes more and more connected, machine and factory automation solutions from B&R are empowering manufacturers to new levels of productivity. Join us for a day to experience these solutions and technologies first hand and discover how you can apply them to your machine or factory as we journey through the fourth Industrial Revolution
We aim to educate and entertain through a variety of seminars that are grouped in three core areas: 1) Automation State of the Art, 2) Innovations, 3) Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). By having various speakers from B&R UK & Ireland, B&R Austria, and partner companies, you will be exposed to a range of new ideas to incorporate into your machine or factory. This includes a demonstration of B&R's Supertrak complete with openROBOTICS using Comau Robots and B&R's Orange Box.
What to expect on the day
B&R will install exhibition style demonstration units and product walls to facilitate discussions during the coffee breaks and throughout lunch. We aim to expose the participants to the latest technology developed by our team of innovation experts as well as through sharing through a group of selected customer case studies presented directly by them.
The day concludes with an optional tour of Jaguar's Castle Bromwich Site that is valued at £49/person.
As a bonus, we will also be raffling off 3 tickets to Jaguar's Performance Comparison Experience which will give you the opportunity to drive both the F-TYPE and XE on the same course.

Not only do we excel in HW design but also SW design to allow the users of our technology to have a truly scalable automation platform for their machines and factories.b) Case Study: (20 min) TBDc) Mechatronics by B&R (20 min)B&R has a reputation for fast PLCs, but what about our motion expertise? ATM Automation bought the very first ACOPOS drive in the 1990s, so how does the ACOPOS P3 now stack up? We will also explore some of our Mapp functions and how we can enable our customers to get motion applications up and running fast to leave time for their software designers to spend their time adding value in other non-routine tasks.10:30-11:15Tea/Coffee Break11:15-12:30Session 2: Innovationsa) Case Study: MappVIEW & TSM Controls (25 min)TSM Controls based in Dundalk Ireland, were searching for a solution to modernise their line management solution in time for launch at the K-Show in Germany last year. B&R’s mappVIEW provided them with the look and feel along with the flexibility they required to make it happen.b) Human-Robot Collaboration at EngRoTec (20 min)A systems integrator has provided us with a unique comparison between a classical robotic cell system and one using openROBOTICS. This sessions will look at the unique benefits such as reduce shop floor space and a higher integrity solution that allows HRC to be successfully implemented with normal high payload robots from Comau.c) B&R Supertrak Demonstration (25 min)As the manufacturing environment continues to look for marginal gains in productivity, areas of planned downtime, such as product changeover time, have become targeted. This requires a higher level of flexibility that can be offered by B&R’s linear transport system, Supertrak.12:30-14:00LunchExhibition Area14:00-15:30Session 3: Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)a) IIoT Introduction (10 min) Data is being used to gain competitive advantages now across all industries and within the factory, we call this the Industrial Internet of Things. Why do we care and how can we take advantage of this growing segment within industrial automation to lock in marginal gains that enable us to compete in a global market place.b) Case Study: AutoCoding Systems Ltd. (20 min)The AutoCoding solution automates the set-up of packaging line devices to avoid coding errors and with the use of barcode scanning verifies that the packaging is always correct for all products. The risk of product recalls due to coding or packaging errors is therefore greatly reduced. AutoCoding specialise in the integration of packaging line devices. As industry leader in packaging line automation solutions, they have a complete understanding of the complexities of packaging line processes.c) The Power of the Digital Twin for a Systems Approach to Machine Design (30 min)A Digital Twin can have several benefits including the ability to run in-line with the real machine to enable rapid task-planning and early detection of potential problems. By integrating a Digital Twin of the machine design on a real-time platform as a Functional Mockup Unit (FMU), the virtual machine can be configured and tested in parallel with the real machine to accelerate the commissioning process, reduce risks and decrease costs.d) Case Study: Nestle and the Orange Box (20 min)How is worlds largest food manufacture applying the tools made available from the IIoT revolution? Combining resources with B&R, Nestle is on the path to realising true growth by improving their OEE and Asset Intensity metrics with the Orange Box; a revolutionary technology that allows existing assets to be digitised in less than 1 hour.15:30-16:00Closing StatementClosing + H&S for Factory Tour + PPE16:00-18:00Factory TourOptional Manufacturing Tour of Jaguar Castle Bromwich
