GENERAL INFORMATION
----------------------------------------------------------------

With this software you can update, save and erase a default boot
logo or an user specific boot logo for a B&R Power Panel 300/400.

----------------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO BUILD A BOOT LOGO
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Create a Windows bitmap with 256 colors with a resolution
matching the Power Panel: 320x240 (QVGA), 640x480 (VGA),
800x600 (SVGA) or 1024x768 (XGA). The bitmap must not be
compressed.

Leave free space on the upper edge of the bitmap for messages
displayed by the BIOS. These messages use bitmap palette index 0 as background color and index 7 as foreground color.

2. Convert the bitmap file with the B&R USERLOGO utility into a
ROM file that can be read by the BIOS.

The B&R USERLOGO Utility is a Windows application and can be
downloaded from the B&R homepage (www.br-automation.com).

UPDATE PROCEDURE
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Copy all files to a bootable disk.

2. Insert the disk in a (USB) floppy drive connected to the Power Panel and re-boot the device.

3. A boot menu with following options is shown after booting:

1. Update User Logo (userlogo.rom)
=> default after 5 sec

The BIOS User Boot Logo will be updated automatically with file USERLOGO.ROM.

2. Update Default Logo (autoselect)

A BIOS Default Boot Logo will be updated automatically
according to the resolution of the device.
(PP3PQVGA.ROM, PP3PVGA.ROM, PP3PSVGA.ROM or PP3PXGA.ROM)

3. Save Boot Logo (directory SAVED)

The BIOS Boot Logo will be saved automatically as file
BOOTLOGO.ROM in the directory SAVED.

with the B&R USERLOGO utility.
