You can update the SMXC firmware on a B&R Mobile Panel with the
this software.

UPDATE PROCEDURE
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Copy all files to a bootable disk.

Note: You can use a bootable Compact Flash card instead of a
disk.

If you received a SMXC firmware file from B&R with a higher
version than file "0009#1.fw" on the disk, replace file
"0009#1.fw" by the new file.

2. Insert the disk in a (USB) floppy drive connected to the Power
Panel and re-boot the device.

Note: You can use the floppy drive of a remote PC via the
Power Panel / Mobile Panel Remote Host (short: REMHOST) Utility
The REMHOST utility is available as separate download from B&R.

3. A boot menu with following options is shown after booting:

1. Update SMXC Firmware

The SMXC firmware will be updated.

WARNING
The update is done normally in In-Applicaton mode. The
display is switched off in this mode at the end of the
update process.

If you use an Intel HEX file for update, the update is
done in In-System mode and the display is switched off at
start of of the update process.
You must start the update process then under REMHOST to see
the screen output.

You can recognize the end of the update process also with
acoustic signals: 1x beep = update OK, 3x beep = error at
update.

The device will be rebooted after successful update!

2. Show SMXC Versions

The version of the System Management Controllers (SMC) and
Matrix Controller (MXC) is displayed.
(default after 5 sec).

3. Exit

Exit to the Shell (MS-DOS).

4. Select the desired action.

5. Remove disk and switch off/on the device (after successful
update only!).
