ATTENTION! Possible upgrade problems and version dependency
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. The Update of the SDLR Firmware is only possible, if the
Automation Panel with Automation Panel Link Transceiver
(5DLSDL.1000-01) or Automation Panel Link Receiver
(5DLSDL.1000-00) is connected. This Update must be done in the
office (clean enviroment - no disturbances), because of a SW
bug in version smaller then V0.03, there could be problems
during the update. When the update fails, the Automation Panel
becomes black. If this occurs, the Automation Panel Link
Transceiver (5DLSDL.1000-01) or Automation Panel Link Receiver
(5DLSDL.1000-00) must be replaced or send for repair.
2. Daisy Chain mode with 2 Automation Panel 900 devices is
supported with SDLR version V00.08 or V01.01 and MTCX PX32
V01.33 and MTCX FPGA V01.11 (included in the MTCX Upgrade
Disc V01.04).
3. The support for a SDLT adapter in the AP Link Slot starts with
MTCX PX32 V01.50 and MTCX FPGA V01.12 (included in the
MTCX Upgrade Disc V01.07).
4. Using a functioning SDL connection with installed SDLR
version V00.03 or smaller, you have to upgrade the SDLR to the
version V00.05 or higher before you upgrade the MTCX PX32 and
FPGA. After this step the upgrade of the MTCX PX32 and FPGA
can be done. If the upgrade of the MTCX PX32 and FPGA is done
as first step, a upgrade of the SDLR FW is not possible.
5. Starting with SDLR version V00.05 or V01.01 the MTCX PX32 must
be V01.23 or higher and the MTCX FPGA must be V01.09 or higher.
Otherwise the SDL communication will not work correctly.
6. Starting with SDLR version V01.04 and MTCX PX32 version V01.55
and MTCX FPGA version V01.15 SDL with Equalizer is supported.
On AP Link Slot SDLT with version V00.02 is necessary (included
in the MTCX Upgrade Disc V01.10). Using SDL with Equalizer, the
possibility is given (depending on the used AP) to use longer
cables (max. 40m). Detailed informations, see APC620 oder
PPC700 user`s manual.
7. It is not possible to mix Automation Panel Link Transceiver
(5DLSDL.1000-01) or Automation Panel Link Receiver
(5DLSDL.1000-00) with firmware version smaller or equal V00.10
with Automation Panel Link Transceiver (5DLSDL.1000-01) or
Automation Panel Link Receiver (5DLSDL.1000-00) with firmware
version higher or equal V01.04. In this combination a Daisy
Chain mode is not possible.
8. Removed bootmenu entry "2. Upgrade MTCX PX32 only" and "3.
Upgrade MTCX FPGA only" starting with MTCX Upgrade Disk V01.13.
9. Bootmenu entry "5. Upgrade SDLR on Monitor/Panel" and "6.
Upgrade SDLR on AP Link Slot" prepared for Automation Panel 800 series upgrade (starting with MTCX Upgrade Disk V01.13).
10.Changed identification from AP8H to SDL8 (AP800 series).
11.Bootmenu entry "5. Upgrade Add-On UPS (Firmware and Battery
Settings)" starting with MTCX Upgrade Disk V01.16 implemented.
12.Starting with MTCX Upgrade Disk V01.16 all firmware files
are equipped with a XML header, consequently the nomenclature
is changed (compatible with Automation Studio and Automation
Runtime).
13.If a UPS (e.g.: 5AC600.UPSI-00) + Batteryunit (e.g.:
5AC600.UPSB-00) is connected to the system, the battery unit
must be disconnected or the Power button must be pressed (to
set the system in standby mode) after the upgrade of the MTCX
or SDLT is done, but before the required Power Off/On is done. Otherwise the firmware upgrade is not complete, because the UPS will provide the system with power.
14.Starting with UPS Firmware V01.10 the APC620/PPC700 ADI driver + Control Center V01.80 is needed, to be able to use the new features ("configurable LowBatteryShutdownTime" and UL compliant "OverCurrentEnable").

UPGRADE PROCEDURE starting APC620 / PPC700 MTCX Upgrade V01.16
----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Extract the *.zip file and copy the files to a bootable disc or e.g. USB Memorystick.
2. Insert the disk into the floppy drive and reboot the APC620 /
PPC700 (or boot from e.g. USB Memorystick).
3. After the reboot there will be displayed a bootmenu with
follow options:

1. Upgrade MTCX (APC620/PPC700) PX32 and FPGA
- MTCX PX32 and FPGA Firmware will be upgraded (Default after 5 sec).
2. Upgrade SDLT (APC620) only
- SDLT FPGA Firmware on AP Link Slot will be upgraded.
(*)3. Upgrade SDLR (AP800/AP900) on Monitor/Panel
- Submenu 1 to upgrade the SDLR Controller Firmware
on Monitor/Panel connector will be opened.
(*)4. Upgrade SDLR (AP800/AP900) on AP Link Slot - Submenu 2 to upgrade the SDLR Controller Firmware
on AP Link Slot will be opened.
(*)5. Upgrade Add-On UPS (Firmware and Battery Settings) - Submenu 3 to program the Add-On UPS Firmware and Battery settings will be opened.
6. Exit
- Exit to Shell (MS-DOS).

(*) Description Submenu 1:
1. Upgrade SDLR on AP 0 (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on Automation Panel 0 will be
upgraded.
2. Upgrade SDLR on AP 1 (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on Automation Panel 1 will be
upgraded.
3. Upgrade SDLR on AP 2 (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on Automation Panel 2 will be
upgraded.
4. Upgrade SDLR on AP 3 (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on Automation Panel 3 will be
upgraded.
5. Upgrade all SDLR (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on all Automation Panels
connected to Monitor/Panel will be upgraded (Default
after 5 sec).
6. Return to Main Menu
- Back to Main Menu.

(*) Description Submenu 2:
1. Upgrade SDLR on AP 8 (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on Automation Panel 8 will be
upgraded.
2. Upgrade SDLR on AP 9 (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on Automation Panel 9 will be
upgraded.
3. Upgrade SDLR on AP 10 (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on Automation Panel 10 will be
upgraded.
4. Upgrade SDLR on AP 11 (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on Automation Panel 11 will be
upgraded.
5. Upgrade all SDLR (AP800/AP900)
- SDLR Controller Firmware on all Automation Panels
connected to AP Link Slot will be upgraded (Default
after 5 sec).
6. Return to Main Menu
- Back to Main Menu.

(*) Description Submenu 3:
1. Upgrade Add-On UPS Firmware (5AC600.UPSI-00)
- Add-On UPS Firmware will be upgraded (Default after 5 sec).
2. Upgrade Battery Settings (5AC600.UPSB-00)
- Battery settings for 5AC600.UPSB-00 will be upgraded.
3. Return to Main Menu
- Back to Main Menu.

4. After successful upgrade a Power Off/On must be done.
