SGC I/O system
The I/O system of SGC targets is conveyed to the Automation Studio user as an SG4 I/O system, i.e. the user has the option to custom
configure and parameterize the modules without having to create an application task.

Support for CIFS client in AR
Automation Runtime now supports a CIFS client (Common Internet File System), which enables access to shared directories (CIFS server, e.g. Windows).

Additions to AR000
- Downloading standard libraries
All B&R standard libraries can now be transferred to AR000.
- Using standard libraries
Hardware independent libraries can also be used in AR000 without limitations. This includes the now completely implemented Ethernetlibrary.
- Timing in the AR000 application
AR000 has the ability to influence the timing of the AR000 application. The processing time can be changed and the application can be edited.

MP40/50 support
The MP40/MP50 modules are now supported in Automation Studio.

Node number as part of the IP address
With this new functionality, the node number setting from the hardware is used for the 4th digit in the IP address. The 4th digit is not entered until after being transferred to the PLC.

Time changes (daylight savings time)
Time changes (daylight savings time) has been implemented in Automation Studio. Time management has also been completed in Automation Runtime. This includes, among other things, the ability to set timezones and to make configuraitons using SNTP.

Performance improvements for VC terminals
The transfer speed of variables to VC terminals has been considerably improved by modifying the transfer mechanism.

Terminal mode support for PP45
If the PP45 is used as a terminal device, a CF card must be created for it. This process can now be completed in the main Automation Studio project (Tools/Create CompactFlash).

Reading diagnostic data from PP300/400 and APC devices
An addition to Automation Runtime now allows diagnostic data to be read from an APC or PP300/400 device. The diagnostic data pointsare entered in the I/O mapping.

Visual Components
- 32-bit true color
Beginning with 2.7.0.3, the editor supports TrueColor and working with the VIASPI library is no longer required.
When inserting an image, it is not immediately displayed in 256 colors; instead it is controlled by the setting TargetFormat.
- Alarm system
Central alarm system: Alarms that occur on a terminal are stored on the server, since the terminal has no persistent memory of its own. An alarm history is possible because of this.
Snippets for system alarms: Numeric and string snippets are now available for system alarms.
- Bidirectional mode
The option Bidirectional can be activated for every languageAs a result, every displayed character is checked for a different writedirection (defined in the character), as is needed for the output of arabic.
- Color maps
The color maps constitute 8-bit color tables that allow an index of combinations consisting of background and foreground colors. This way the color scheme of controls can be changed during runtime without having to worry about highbytes and lowbytes like with the
ColorDatapoint.
- Fallback language
The fallback language is the default language of untranslated texts.
