APROL Runtime System
Central process data basis - IOSYS
■ The IOSYS program is the central online process data basis and contains all current process values.
The IOSYS handles data storage, data distribution, and data management for the entire APROL system.
■ Different programs / clients (e.g. controller drivers) supply the IOSYS with process values.
These process values are then used by other programs / clients (e.g. DisplayCenter on the operator station).
Hot standby server redundancy
■ An APROL Runtime system can be designed redundantly by setting up two Runtime servers with identical hardware and software.
■ The same programs / clients run on both Runtime servers, with one of the two being used as the master Runtime server responsible for the process control.
■ The redundancy software immediately switches from the master Runtime server to the slave Runtime server when an error occurs (e.g. the master Runtime server loses the network connection to the controllers) without data loss.
■ The status of the server redundancy can be displayed using the StartManager, system variables, or in the visualization application. It is possible at any time to use the StartManager to switch redundant servers manually.
■ The alignment bus is used to monitor the Runtime server and synchronize the recorded historical data.
