The X20 System is distinguished by its flexibility and ability to be used for many different types of applications. Large or compact controllers, machine manufacturing or process automation – its use covers an extremely wide spectrum. Central controller architectures with modular CPUs which allow for added interfaces can also be implemented with the X20 System, much like a system with distributed intelligence.

Bus controllers allow the X20 System to be connected to any existing products in the B&R world. Power Panel devices, Automation PCs, Mobile Panel devices, System 2003, System 2005, and other product families even offer direct interfaces to the remote X2X Link backplane.
