A PVI application can be run on all B&R PCs without an additional Runtime license (dongle).

 

A dongle is required for any PVI application on a PC from another manufacturer. Without a dongle, these applications can run without functional limitations for a maximum of 2 hours in trial mode.

 

There is a difference between running a PVI application on the same PC as the PVI Manager or on a different PC (Remote PVI).

A PVI Runtime license is only required on the PC on which the PVI Manager is running. Applications on a client PC that access a server PC with a PVI installation via Remote PVI don't require an additional PVI Runtime license.

 

B&R applications that use PVI components - e.g. Automation Studio - do not need a PVI Runtime license.
