Each Upgrade Service is valid for 12 months, and free for one year from the date of purchase.

The Upgrade Service includes free delivery of the newest release of B&R Automation Studio 3.0 full version to the customer's address for a duration of 12 months from the date of purchase (of a full version).

A customer can have the upgrade delivered by mail using the function "Order CD" on the B&R homepage under "Material Related Downloads > Automation Software". If the customer doesn't need the CD delivered by mail, the full version can be downloaded as an automatically unzipping file using the function "Download Now" under "Material Related Downloads > Automation Software".

In both cases the user must login and enter the serial number to confirm that a valid Upgrade Service contract exists. If this is not the case, the order/download is not permitted. The serial number is found on a paper CD in the CD case, and is also used for licensing AS 3.0. Is also free to downloads upgrades using the upgrade dialog box in B&R Automation Studio.

Renewing the Upgrade Service

After the 12 months has passed, the Upgrade Service will be automatically extended by B&R for another 12 months unless B&R is requested by the customer to end the Upgrade Service.

Canceling the Upgrade Service

The Upgrade deliveries from B&R will be ended if B&R is requested by the customer in written form to end the Upgrade Service contract 4 weeks before the 12 months have passed.

Upgrade for AS 2.x

The Upgrade Service for AS 3.0 also includes the option to download newer versions of AS 2.x.

Notification of new versions

The customer can sign up to receive notifications when new versions are available using the "notification of changes" option on the B&R homepage. When notification of changes is selected, the customer is informed when there are new product changes for Automation Studio 3.0. Product groups for which notifications are desired can be selected in the customer profile.
