X20 System wins US Editors’ Choice Award for Best Technology in 2005
02/03/2006
X20 system from B&R received the “seal of approval” as one of the best technologies of 2005, among the Editors’ Choice Award winners announced in the January issue of Control Engineering.
Winners for the 19th annual awards were chosen based on service to the industry, technological advancement, and market impact within eight categories, including among others machine control. The X20 system was the only slice I/O system to win the award in its category. Control Engineering editors stated the following reasons why they felt that the X20 system deserved to be among the winners:
  • The I/O unit operates as a controller when combined with a CPU, meaning that a third programming environment does not have to be learned;
  • The highly modular I/O and control system makes assembling and expanding required control functions easier;
  • Additionally, the system can run many applications without programming; configuration and testing can be done offline;
  • Overall the flexibility and versatility of the X20 system is very impressive.
The awards ceremony will be held during the National Manufacturing Week, March 20-24, 2006, in Chicago, IL. For more information, go to
