Explosion protection for X67 systems from B&R
X67 for use in explosive atmospheres
10/14/2005
The TÜV Rheinland Group has certified all X67 System modules with the EX symbol for Group II according to the ATEX 7201 standard. All modules connected with the X67 such as bus controllers, I/O, function modules, and system supply modules are now the best choice for use in potentially explosive environments.
From now on, the X67 System can be used in machines in explosive atmospheres such as filling systems for perfume, alcoholic beverages, and solvents without a second thought.

The X67 System was designed by B&R as an intelligent controller and I/O system for use outside the switching cabinet. This system is able to achieve this industrial standard thanks to its IP67 protection. Its compact structure and optimal connection engineering allows it to be placed nearly anywhere on the machine. Individually, these modules can be placed up to 100 meters apart without any loss of performance. Designs ranging from 4 to 32 channels are available. In addition, the X67 is extremely flexible since the digital channels can be configured either as inputs or outputs. Open interfaces – standardized EDS or GSD description files – allow X67 modules to be integrated with all standard fieldbuses in different programming environments and be configured and programmed normally.
