ETHERNET Powerlink wins an award in America
02/24/2005
Editors of the Control Engineering Magazine vote for ETHERNET Powerlink.
For the third time now, the leading real-time Ethernet protocol ETHERNET Powerlink has received an award. After being voted Product of the Year 2003 by the magazine "Elektronik" and receiving the gold medal at the Automaticon 2003 in Poland, ETHERNET Powerlink has been awarded the Editors Choice Award 2004 in the category "Networks and Communication" by the editors of the widespread American trade magazine Control Engineering.

This year the Control Engineering editors evaluated a couple hundred nominees. The criteria for the selection were: benefits for the industry, innovation power and market influence. A total of 40 winners were chosen in 8 categories.

"Each year, Control Engineering informs readers about thousands of products in printed and electronic form. At the year’s end our editors re-evaluate this mass of information according to various criteria", says Mark Hoske, editor in chief of Control Engineering. "They then select the best products and assign points. The complexity of selecting the winners increases every year, due to the rising number of innovations."

Now, selected Control Engineering subscribers can vote for the Engineer’s Choice Awards. They will select their favored products in each category from the 40 Editor’s Choice Award winners. The eight winners will be awarded at the National Manufacturing Week in Chicago from March 7th to 10th.
