First European Industrial Ethernet Award (2008/2009)

The winners of the first European Industrial Ethernet Award are from Denmark and confidently took first place with their implementation of POWERLINK into a Formula Student racing car. In second place the Vienna University of Technology qualified with their Machine building concept "X-Cut". And in third place we may congratulate the project "Slosh-Free Positioning of Containers with Liquids and Flexible Conveyor Belt" carried out at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

The papers of the winner projects and some further interesting submissions can be downloaded here.

Second European Industrial Ethernet Award (2009/2010)

We would like to congratulate the winners of the 2nd European Industrial Ethernet Award - the project "Automatic Reconfiguration of Ethernet POWERLINK Networks" submitted by TUM (the technical university in Munich). Second place went to the juggling robot from the Czech Technical University in Prague, which participated for the second time in the Award and was updated this year to include safety and collision detection, among other things. And third place went to the Austrian Academy of Sciences with the paper "Efficient Large-Scale Oriented Real-Time Network".

The papers for the winning projects can be downloaded here.

Third European Industrial Ethernet Award (2010/2011)

At the Third European Industrial Ethernet Award, prizes were awarded in two different categories. Both of the winning teams this year are from Italy and were able to convince the jury of the usefulness of their concept. In the area of embedded systems, a group from the University of Ferrara succeeded with their project regarding "Open-source technologies for Embedded Control systems: From robotics to Home/Building Automation". The prize for the project with the most relevance for industry went to the "PowerLine Powerlink (the next generation home automation network runs in real-time over mains wiring)" project offered by the University of Bologna.

Papers from both winning projects can be downloaded here.
