European Industrial Ethernet Award

Second European Industrial Ethernet Award (2009/2010)

This international award is calling for innovative concepts, creative solutions, promising scientific papers, and outstanding research projects in the wide range of all engineering subjects. The only restriction is that your project is based on POWERLINK, makes use of POWERLINK, or proposes POWERLINK technology in any interesting way.

Prize

1st Place: € 10,000
2nd Place: € 5,000
3rd Place: € 2,500

 

Additionally, all members of the Top 10 ranked project teams will be awarded a surprise package.

The prize money will be handed to the representative of the team and is for uncommitted use for research work at the participating department of the university.

2009-06-01 Start of Registration

2010-04-16 Latest hand-in of Draft Paper
2010-05-28 Latest hand-in of Final Paper

Jury and Evaluation

Your papers will be evaluated by an international jury regarding:
  • Technological Innovation
  • Relevance for the Industry
  • Scientific Quality
  • Creativity

Project

Realization

A project may be done either practically or as theoretical papers. The final result will in both cases be a paper that you hand in to us.

Paper Layout

The paper shall contain of 4 to 8 pages (A4). The style of the paper shall be according to the IEEE Transaction Template style. Information and style sheets for Microsoft Word and LaTeX can be downloaded here.

Publication

Publication of the paper is highly appreciated!

Team

A team may consist of up to five people in any combination of students, assistant researchers, and professors.

At least one team member must be a student.

Registration

Please send your registration for the award to award@br-automation.com

The registration info shall include:

  • Name of your project or project team
  • Name and contact details (mail + phone) of the team's contact person
  • Name of other team members (if already available)
  • Basic description of your project summarizing the main ideas (max. 1 page)
  • Information on how you learned about this award
