This international award is calling for innovative concepts, creative solutions, promising scientific papers and outstanding research projects likewise in the wide range of all engineering subjects. The only restriction is that your project needs to be based on POWERLINK, make use of POWERLINK or propose POWERLINK technology in any new favourable way

All team members of the top 10 voted projects will be invited to an international event weekend in Austria

The prize money will be handed to the representative of the team and is for uncommitted use for research work at the participating department of the university.

A team may consist of any combination of students, assistant researchers and professors.
The team size is limited with 1-5 persons.

We readily appreciate any form of publication. Please feel free to register your paper on any upcoming conference or journal.
Additionally we would offer to publish some outstanding papers in various automation magazines after completion of the Award.

• I have already done a project based on POWERLINK. Can I participate? Yes, for sure!
• I have got a (finished) project based on an other fieldbus. My task now would be to port it to POWERLINK. Is this okay? Yes, this is completely okay!
• I do not have any hard- or software to run POWERLINK. How can I participate? All technical information regarding POWERLINK (e.g. specification) is license and royalty free and can be downloaded from the EPSG (Ethernet Powerlink Standardization Group) homepage: http://www.ethernet-powerlink.org/. With openPOWERLINK there is also an Open Source implementation available which you can download from: http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/openPOWERLINK
• Is it required that my project is Open Source or based on openPOWERLINK? No, it is not necessary that your project is Open Source or developed using openPOWERLINK. You may also use any other (proprietary) POWERLINK implementation.
• How many pages shall the paper contain? The paper shall contain of 4 to 8 pages (A4)
