Growth creates new jobs.
B&R recently welcomed Mr. Markus Schmidt as the 1,000th employee at the company headquarters in Eggelsberg. The 26 year old, who studied business information technology at the University of Linz, is now employed as SAP organization developer. Above-average growth of the Eggelsberg-based company has brought about plans for an expansion of the headquarters in the coming years with an investment volume of nearly 25 million euros. This expansion will create approximately 500 new jobs for production, development and sales by 2011. B&R provides secure jobs for a wide range of occupations such as production employees, sales engineers and specialists in the area of software development, and is one of the most significant employers in the region. The Eggelsberg location brings together development, application and administration as well as the entire production for the world market. Founded in 1979, B&R has become the largest private company in the area of integrated automation for series machine manufacturing. 1,500 employees in over 55 countries are constantly working towards innovative automation solutions to benefit the customer. The product range includes not only controls, visualizations, industrial PCs and motion control, but also software and complete process control systems.
