Last Friday, the Austrian Chancellor Dr. Alfred Gusenbauer visited the Eggelsberg-based automation specialists Bernecker + Rainer, one of the largest employers in its region. B&R is the first company Gusenbauer has visited since taking office.
Dr. Gusenbauer was accompanied by National Councillor Marianne Hagenhofer and Eggelsberg's Mayor Christian Kager.

In his company presentation, Josef Rainer remarked on the dynamic growth of the company, which he founded together with Erwin Bernecker in 1979. With the vision they had then, B&R has developed into an international company with over 1,500 employees and revenues of 235 million Euros. The headquarters in Eggelsberg, where all products are produced for worldwide delivery, recently greeted its 1,000th employee. In the coming years, around 25 million Euros will be invested in the Eggelsberg facility to keep up with the continued growth of the leading innovator in the area of automation technology. Dr. Gusenbauer was pleased to learn of the new investments that would be creating around 500 new jobs. He also showed appreciation for the exemplary entrepreneurial spirit of the two company founders and commended the technological leadership that is secured through continual research and development activities -- Made in Austria.
